ARTISTS' BIO
SUSAN CRADDOCK
Susan Craddock is a Marlborough based artist who works predominantly with oil and pastel. Her work ranges from serene landscapes, through to exquisite delicate florals.
I was born in Gisborne, New Zealand where my father managed high country sheep and cattle stations. My mother was a green thumb gardener, she was also a tutor and mentor in the arts for me and my early artistic training is now a tribute to her. Later I attended art courses in New Zealand and overseas.
As a young mother of two sons, I owned a high-country property myself and was drawn to paint the natural beauty around me.
After spending many years overseas, I now live in Marlborough. The magnificent and varied landscape and animals of our countryside has motivated me to capture its uniqueness in my drawings and paintings for the discerning to appreciate and enjoy.
