Meet The Team
Owner Proprietor - Ruth de Reus

About the Owner-Proprietor: Born and raised at the Chatham Islands, New Zealand, Ruth de Reus moved to South Island’s picturesque Queenstown, where she lived for 27 years before moving to Picton with her husband, and family of cats. Ruth’s connection with Picton dates back to her maternal grandmother, and great grand parents who were from the area.
Ruth has always had a deep appreciation for art in all forms from Maori art/craft, paintings, drawings, collage, sculpture, and design. Aside from her passion of art and decor, she has written 2 children’s story books.
Gallery Sales Coordinator - Maureen Allison

Maureen and her husband moved to Picton from Auckland in 2020.
After working in the corporate world, she found further success in becoming a Mary Kay Cosmetics Sales Director which she did for 32 years. She is also a personal Colour Consultant. Cosmetics is just another medium for colour, contour and camouflage. Maureen is an art appreciator, which makes Raukura Art Gallery her ‘happy place’. Her flair for design and passion for colour and creativity allows her to make her stamp at Raukura Gallery.
Gallery Sales Coordinator - Marilyn Jessop

Painting has been Marilyn's life-long passion – starting at the age of eleven when she fell in love capturing colour on canvas, which began her journey in becoming an artist. She has previously owned her own art gallery and exhibited her work at shows in both Marlborough and Nelson.
She now sell's her work at Raukura Gallery, Picton, where she is also a Gallery Sales Coordinator. Part of her role at the gallery is sourcing new emerging artists throughout New Zealand which she find's challenging and rewarding.
Marilyn's life long passion is art, where she is able to express, create and explore.
