ARTISTS' BIO
LYNNE IGGULDEN
Largely self-taught I have been painting and drawing since early childhood and began painting full time in 2007.
I paint in all mediums including watercolour, acrylic, oils and enjoy working with gold leaf. I specialise in ‘Contemporary Realism’ and my paintings portray the passion I have for fine detail, which allows me to venture further into my subject matter, constantly testing and challenging my drawing and painting skills. Texture and the presence of light and shade also play a big part in my art. “My subject matter is often of the very simplistic, every day objects that are often overlooked. Old tyres tied to wharves, Rusty Fishing boats, Old doors, chipping paint, fence posts and rusty padlocks – to me they represent a passing of time – though in their declining state still retain a powerful presence”. In 2009, I was invited along with 760 other artists from around the world to exhibit at the highly prestigious ‘Florence Biennale’ in Florence, Italy at which my detailed work drew a great deal of interest from the Art Critics as well as the public and other exhibiting artists at the Biennale. |
