ARTISTS' BIO

KAREN DEY

I am a self taught artist residing in the coastal town of Opunake,Taranaki. Our house borders the rugged west coast and the views from it along with its sounds provide me with the inspiration for my Seascape paintings. I am blessed to be able to view the ocean on one side and the beautiful Mount Taranaki on the other. The mountain has also been a favorite along with our bird life, animals and old buildings.
 
Painting is a passion of mine and I strive to bring out the beauty I see in my subject by using detail, the light, and color in each piece.​
