ARTISTS' BIO
TINA SUTER
Tina Suter lives in Christchurch, New Zealand with her son, two dogs, and a cat. A self-taught artist, Tina has been painting for over 25 years, preferring to work with oil, resin and mixed media artworks.
Tina has a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology with first-class honours in journalism and has spent a lifetime juggling work in the corporate world alongside painting, which is her first and foremost love. "I realised that my love of words and the human mind was more effectively expressed through art – a realisation that came after experiencing trauma and finding art as the best form of therapy. I have always been a dreamer and words could never express what my imagination can through art. My art has no limits, and I am motivated by music, poetry, and life." Tina’s style is mostly abstract realism using bold, vibrant colours to express emotion – often producing her best work when feeling the pressures of everyday life. Her work comes in three very different styles: the moody sunset and sunrise paintings, the realism of nature (trees, animals, and birds), and the mixed media works using resin and broken glass. Tina has exhibited at the Christchurch Art Show and has sold to private collectors throughout New Zealand. Her work is original, emotive, unique, and striking. Welcome to Tina’s world, enjoy x |
