Clothing designer, Anita Tuinman ( who is known for her clothing label 'Anita Maria') was born and raised in Queenstown, New Zealand, and now resides in Dunedin.
From an early age Anita has always had a passion for creating and making tactile things. Creativity has always played a huge part in her life. When she was 13, her mother a dressmaker/tailor encouraged her to buy her very own sewing machine so she could learn to sew and make her own clothes. Spanning a period of 30 years, Anita has designed her own label clothing 'Anita Maria' and supplied to various boutique shops throughout Dunedin and Marlborough. She has also been commissioned to design and create women's-ware, formal dresses, wedding dresses and men's clothing. Anita loves to work with beautiful, bold fabrics and her aim is to make the wearer feel special. Creating and designing clothing, is Anita's life long passion. |
